Along with assistant editors Paul Cunningham and Nichole Riggs, we were delighted, surprised, exhilarated, challenged and somewhat disturbed by the submissions we received for our recent open reading period. It seems clear that something exciting, multiform, tentacular, muscular, gargantuan, frayed and strange is going on beneath the smooth skirts of prize-winning US verse culture! We are delighted to be one of its many terrible nodes.
